The Centre for Global Child Health (C-GCH) actively contributes to the EWEC Global Strategy through collaborative research grounded in scholarship, sustainable capacity building through education, and the use of evidence to advocate for improved maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, in partnership with local, national and international stakeholders. 2019 was another important year for C-GCH. In addition to operational successes and the many publications and awards achieved by our members, we continued to focus attention on global child health priorities and challenges within the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Government of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy targeting gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls globally. Currently, the C-GCH actively contributes to achieving SDG 2 (Zero hunger), SDG 3 (Good health and well-being), SDG 5 (Gender equality) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the goals).
