Discovery, through our various business i.e. Discovery Health and Discovery Insure, and through our Corporate Social Investment funding platforms i.e. Discovery Fund and Discovery Foundation, and Discovery ForGood (employee volunteer programme) commits to improving maternal and child health, as well as addressing some issues facing adolescents and youth in South Africa. We commit to doing so through sharing our intellectual property and providing financial and other resources to make the strengthening of health systems and the delivery of primary healthcare more accessible with a bias to promoting maternal and child health. We also commit to adolescent and youth development which encompasses life skills for school aged youth, providing accredited training opportunities and assisting with placing unemployed youth in the workplace. Furthermore, we commit to the reduction of road fatalities and road crashes through sharing our intellectual property in telematics technology and providing financial and other support to organizations committed to the safe travel to school programme which is directed at children who are reliant on public transport.
