Launch of the Subscribed to Slavery Campaign
In partnership with Every Woman Every Child, an initiative of the UN Secretary-General, and to align with International Day of the Girl Child on 11 October 2020, Walk Free has launched the Subscribed to Slavery campaign.
In collaboration with Leo Burnett Australia, we created a series of powerful, emotive films that subvert popular YouTube formats to highlight the insidious nature of modern slavery – which is often hidden in plain sight.
Behind the Doors
A woman hosts a guided tour throughout a lovely home. However, for her, the home is effectively a prison where she is forced to clean, cook, and bear the abuse of the family that employ her. Like many women trapped in domestic servitude in almost every country in the world, she is unable to leave.

We encourage everyone to watch and share the Subscribed to Slavery campaign with family, friends, colleagues, and networks. We all share the responsibility to create change in our communities and reduce the risk of modern slavery. The first step to ending modern slavery is to arm yourself with the knowledge of how, and why it manifests – and what we can do to make a difference.
